ABOUT NSCC

The National Senior Citizens Centre was established pursuant to the National Citizens Center Act 2017 with mandate to identify the needs of senior citizens and to cater for them. It is the first distinct national corporate body with focus on social inclusion of senior citizens in sustainable development and the improvement of the quality of life and well-being.

NSCC is to identify opportunities for trainings, to initiate, facilitate and implement health and social programs, enhance work schemes and enterprise for income generation to support independent living. NSCC is focused on strengthening the protection of senior citizen's rights to dignity, independence, care, security, participation, and self fulfillment.

VISION

An inclusive society where every older person can live a dignified, healthy, happy and secured life to the fullest with opportunity to continue to participate in what they value and to access appropriate care in a place of their choice.

MISSION

To engage strategic multi-sectoral partnerships and data application to identify needs of older persons and initiate, facilitate and effectively coordinate programmes and services to carter for the needs of older persons and improve the quality of life and wellbeing of older persons while promoting intergenerational synergies and economic growth opportunities.

OVERALL GOAL

To improve the quality of life and wellbeing of older persons in Nigeria for enhanced self-fulfilment.

Welcome to the  National Senior Citizens Centre (NSCC), the focal Agency on Ageing and older persons defined chronologically in Nigeria's National policy on Ageing as persons 60 years and above.

I hope that the content provides sufficient information about the mandate, programs and activities of the National Senior Citizens Centre.

The National Senior Citizens Centre is a corporate entity established by the National Senior Citizens Centre Act 2017, under the purview of the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development with the mandate to identify the needs of senior citizens in Nigeria.
